In February we head up north to one of the most popular ski resorts in the country, Steamboat, Colorado. Incorporated in 1900 Steamboat was one of the largest exporters of cattle in the Western United States. Known for its Champagne powder, Steamboat Resort averages an annual snowfall of over 300 inches. With a base elevation of 6,900 feet, Steamboat’s vertical rise of 3,668 feet offers a diversity of trails for all levels of ability including a complete mountain range comprised of 4 peaks covering 2,965 acres of terrain.

Steamboat Springs has nearly 250 shops and boutiques including art galleries, western outfitters, outdoor retailers and gift shops for every inclination. Two primary pedestrian-friendly shopping areas include Steamboat’s Mountain Village located at the base of the Steamboat Ski Area and downtown Steamboat Springs.
