Ski Vail

Vail Ski Area Information
Dates: January 3-5, 2012 | January 9-12, 2012
Vail has always been a favorite stop on the Ski Adventure tour. Vail’s vast amount of terrain allows you to work on your technique and confidence, improving at your own pace. The back bowls of Vail are the perfect place to work on off piste skiing and with luck, get some fresh powder tracks. If moguls are your preference, the Vail ski terrain presents some of the finest bump skiing in the world. With practice you’ll be gliding from one to another in no time. The endless groomers on the front side allow the less aggressive skiers focus on new skills without any distractions. All of this is done in small groups of similar ability, with the finest instructors available. Kim believes “more skiing, less talking” is the way to improve; “one concept at a time and then practice, practice, practice.” Through video feedback in a private setting you will learn faster and have a clearer understanding of what you need to do to improve. If necessary, your equipment needs will be addressed. Demo skis, boots, poles and helmets are available free of charge and a technician is always on hand to help.
The convenience of Gorsuch as out host shop allows us flexibility in our schedule. Small groups mean if you want to wait for it to warm up a bit it’s not a problem. If you want to get out first thing, you can do that too. Kim knows that this is your vacation and wants you to enjoy it the way you like it. When the day is over and your legs, say “done” it’s an easy ski down or download ski down or download back to the comforts of your hotel or apres ski at Gorsuch.
Background:
Famous worldwide as North America’s top ski resort, Vail is an extraordinary winter vacation destination. Vail boasts three distinct mountain areas, each with their own features, including seven bowls and 5,289 acres of terrain. At seven miles wide, finding fresh tracks is easy. In fact, on an average day, there are only two skiers per acre, and on a busy day, only four! Vail’s “Seven Wonders”, the legendary Back Bowls, were blanketed last year with more than thirty-five feet of powder. Under blue sky three hundred days a year and with more groomed terrain than any resort on the planet, Vail’s vacation experience is world class.

In their Words:
“An avid skier for forty-plus years, I needed a reason to keep going, since my kids and husband were wildly enthusiastic about the sport. My husband sent me to a Kim clinic for women; I knew no one else in the group; and suddenly everything changed for me. It started with the warm and joyful reception, where I discovered fabulous women from all walks of the sport. We bonded right away, skied with a purpose, received wonderful instruction from Kim and her hand-picked instructors, and way-y-y too soon, it was time to go home. I now go to 2-3 Kim adventures a year and have a whole new attitude about this terrific sport.”
