Excursions to Rusutsu Resort and Iwanai Snow-cat SkiinG:
The last few seasons Kim has traveled to the coastal town of Iwanai, which has a closed ski resort with no lifts, now open for cat skiing. With limited seats available and outstanding tree skiing over looking the Sea of Japan, Iwanai is as unique as it gets. Fresh tracks all day long and fresh sushi for lunch.
Rusutsu Resort, just 45 minutes from Niseko is an authentic Japanese ski area. The skiing is some of the best in Hokkaido with no crowds, short lift rides and long runs into ravines and gullies filled with bottomless snow. Kim has visited Rusutsu for seven years and often finds the best skiing hidden where most people don’t go.
Kim will host out of her condo at the Snow Crystal in the Village of Hirafu. The Vale and Snow Crystal are slope side, most hotels are close by and have shuttles. Share Kim’s kitchen before and again après ski for photos and refreshments. On the 24th we transfer to Iwanai for two days of snow-cat skiing where accommodations and meals are included. On the 26th after skiing we will transfer back to Sapporo to flights out the next day.
