NISEKO, JAPAN

The stories are true; Japan has some of the most amazing powder skiing in the world. After eight years of guiding groups in Hokkaido, the most northern island, Kim picks mid-January to mid-February for optimal conditions. Can you say JAPOW?

NISEKO January 18-25, January 25 - February 1, February 1-8

The famous Niseko United is made up of several resorts at the base the Annapuri Volcano. Niseko, Hirafu and Hanazono, all provide an abundance of powder, easy access side country and some of the best tree skiing in the world.  We base out of the village of Hirafu, with fine dining, bars, shops and services.  Japan is the place to be this January and February. Stop thinking about it and make it happen.

EXPERT SKIERS ONLY:

Extensive side-country skiing will take place daily in Niseko. Because we are skiing a volcano, we will hike, traverse and sidestep to access the powder stashes. Expert skills and stamina will be necessary to enjoy the experience.

EXCURSIONS TO RUSUTSU RESORT AND IWANAI SNOW-CAT SKIING:

During your week we will take two day trips, one to the coastal town of Iwanai for snow-cat skiing and the other to Rusutsu Resort. Iwanai is a closed ski resort with no lifts, now open for cat skiing. With outstanding tree skiing overlooking the Sea of Japan, Iwanai is as unique as it gets. Fresh tracks all day long and fresh sushi for lunch. The second day trip is to Rusutsu Resort, just 45 minutes from Niseko, an authentic Japanese ski area. The skiing is some of the best in Hokkaido with short lift rides and long runs down ridges, into ravines and gullies filled with bottomless snow.

ACCOMMODATIONS:

Kim is staying at The Vale, in the Village of Hirafu. The ski-in ski-out, three-bedroom apartment in where Kim will host morning meetings and après ski. There are two rooms available if you would like to share with Kim or get your own accommodations at The Vale or a hotel nearby. Shuttles to Rusutsu and Iwania will leave from the Vale.
